Both Elliot and I were keen on a high chair that was sturdy and that was attractive to look at, after all we knew it was going to be a permanent resident in our kitchen for the next few years. The concept of the highchair is that it essentially grows with the child, from secure highchair to essentially a chair that is high for children aged up to ten years old.
So what is the Tripp Trapp?
“The chair that grows with the child.™ From birth.
The Tripp Trapp® is an ingenious highchair that revolutionised the children’s chair category back in 1972 when it was first launched. It is designed to fit right up to your dining table, bringing your baby into the heart of your family, allowing him or her to learn and develop alongside you. The intelligent, adjustable design allows freedom of movement with both depth- and height adjustable seat- and footplates. When adjusted correctly, your child is ensured a comfortable and ergonomic seating position at any age.”
I had it in the back of my mind already that I wanted to get Felix a Tripp Trapp, so was delighted when I was able to review one of their newest colours ‘Storm Grey’ – this time with the baby set!Assembling the Tripp Trapp is easy peasy (just ask Elliot hehe)… the only thing that takes a bit of brain power is figuring out which slots best suit your child’s height when adjusting the seat and foot plates.
One of the main things that sets the Tripp Tripp apart from some of it’s rivals is it’s superior quality – it’s solid beech wood frame makes it extremely durable. We’ve never had any chips or scuffs so if like me you have heavy handed children, the Tripp Trapp is well worth the extra buck – particularly when you consider that it evolves to fit and hold fully grown adults. In other words, the Tripp Trapp won’t be leaving the dining table any time soon, and even when it is time to part, they very much hold their value, ready for another family to enjoy.
Is a Stokke Tripp Trapp worth the money?
It’s an investment I’d recommend any parent with young children to make, and trust me… you’ll be raving about it like I am. It’s so easy to clean. It what I love most about our chair – there’s nowhere for crumbs to get stuck and no inconvenient patterns that create ridges that are challenging to wipe clean. Even if all you’ve got handy is a tiny strip of bone-dry paper towel, you’ll be able to clean off the Tripp Trapp without a speck of frustration.
Where can you buy?
You can obviously buy from the Stokke website or get your highchair more local if you do some research! We got ours from ‘Prams & Lullabys’ in Harrogate. It’s a fairly new shop in Harrogate centre and looks amazing! It’s obviously a baby shop from the outside and the inside is even better. It’s so big and has everything you can think off, supplying many great well-known popular brands. From prams, car seats, toys, high chairs, cots.. you name it!
It’s family run and this makes it feel so welcoming when going inside, if you need advice on anything then they are happy to help and let you just wonder around the shop at your own pace. I have already recommended this place to many of my mummy friends in the area. I took some photos when we visited so that i can show you all how well layed out it is & just how much they stock!
